- Account Information: Email address, name, and password when you create an account
- Location Data: GPS coordinates when you create neighborhoods, report alerts, or access maps
- Community Data: Neighborhood names, member lists, and administrative roles
- Alert Information: Reports you submit including descriptions, severity levels, and timestamps
- Payment Information: Billing details processed securely through PayPal (we do not store credit card information)
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide neighborhood watch and safety alert services
- Enable location-based features and geofencing
- Process subscription payments and manage billing
- Send important service notifications and alerts
- Improve our platform and develop new features
- Ensure platform security and prevent abuse
3. Information Sharing
Your information is shared only as necessary to provide our services:
- Within Your Neighborhood: Your alerts and reports are visible to other members of your neighborhood
- Neighborhood Admins: Admins can view member information and activity within their neighborhoods
- Service Providers: We use Firebase (Google), Google Maps, and PayPal to provide our services
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect safety
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
4. Location Data
Location data is collected only when you:
- Create a new neighborhood (sets the center point)
- Report a safety alert (includes location of incident)
- Access the map view (finds nearby neighborhoods)
We do not track your location continuously. You can deny location access, but this will limit functionality.
5. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption, secure authentication, and regular security audits. However, no internet transmission is 100% secure. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.

You have the right to:
- Access and download your personal data

- Request deletion of your account and data
- Opt out of non-essential communications
- Withdraw consent for location access
7. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes (e.g., billing records).

IceLookout is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If we discover we have collected data from a child, we will delete it immediately.
